How to play Flag & Clue
Flag & Clue is a daily geography game that pairs a national flag emoji with one short clue about the country it belongs to. Five countries appear each day, chosen fresh from a rotating list, and you pick the correct country from four options for each.
- Look at the flag and read the accompanying geography clue.
- Choose the country you believe matches the flag and clue from four options.
- Move through all five countries at your own pace.
- Finish the round to see your score for the day.
Scoring
Your score reflects how many of the five countries you identify correctly, scaled to a total out of 100. A perfect run of five correct picks earns the full score.
Tips
- Flag colors and layout often narrow a guess to a region before the clue is needed.
- Read the clue even when you recognize the flag β it can rule out similar-looking flags.
- Watch for countries with similar flag colors in different arrangements.
- Capital cities and landmarks mentioned in the clue are usually the fastest giveaway.
FAQ
- Does everyone get the same Flag & Clue countries?
- Yes. The five countries are generated from the game date and identical for every player that day.
- Can I replay Flag & Clue?
- Your first completed attempt is saved as the daily result. A new scored round arrives at midnight US Eastern.
- Are the same countries repeated often?
- The daily set is pulled from a wide rotating list, so repeats are spaced out over time.
- Is there a penalty for a wrong guess?
- No, a wrong guess simply does not add to your score, and you keep playing the remaining countries.
- Is there a hint?
- On rounds that offer one, Show hint reveals the capital and languages. Using it makes that round worth half.
