Word games reward a good vocabulary and a sharp eye for patterns. Make them your daily solo puzzle break, or compare guesses with friends on the same board.
Why word games are fun
A good word puzzle feels like a lock clicking open. You start with almost nothing, a handful of letters or a blank grid, and every guess teaches you something. By the end the answer seems obvious, which is exactly why it is so satisfying to share. Word games also suit every kind of player: some people love the slow, careful deduction of a five-letter mystery word, others prefer the quick rhythm of unscrambling a set of jumbled words against their own sense of urgency.
Our word games cover that whole range. Letterlock is the deduction puzzle, with six guesses and colored feedback after each one. Word Ladder asks you to change one letter at a time to walk from a start word to an end word. Scramble gives you a set of tangled words to put right. Mini Crossword packs a real clue-and-grid crossword into a few minutes, and Word Chain keeps a sequence going by matching the last letter of each word.
How the daily works
Every word puzzle is built from the date, so everyone in the world plays the same board on the same day. New puzzles unlock at midnight US Eastern time. You get one scored attempt per game per day, and your score is checked on our server, so a leaderboard win is a real win. You can play as a guest, or create a free account to keep your streak, history and badges across devices.
Each guess is checked against our word list as you play. If a word is not in the list, you are told straight away and it does not cost you a turn. When you finish, you get a spoiler-free share card: colored squares and a score, never the answer, so you can post it in the group chat without ruining anyone's morning.
Playing with your group
Word games are best with other people. Create a group, invite friends or family with a link or a six-character code, and pick which games make up your daily lineup. Your scores post to the group automatically, the Today board shows who is leading, and the Stats tab tracks streaks, averages and who is improving fastest. Comments about a game stay blurred until you have played it yourself, so nobody spoils the word.
A quick tip for new players: open Letterlock with a word that uses common vowels and consonants, play Word Ladder by working backwards from the end word when you are stuck, and in Scramble look for common endings like -ING and -ER first. Then compare notes with your group and try to beat them tomorrow.
