How to play Higher or Lower
Higher or Lower is a fast daily comparison game. Each round names two real things β mountains, countries, rivers, landmarks or planets β and you simply pick which one is higher, bigger, longer or older. Five rounds decide your streak for the day.
- Read the two options and the comparison being asked.
- Tap the option you believe is higher, bigger, longer or earlier.
- Move through all five rounds at your own pace.
- Finish the round to see your score and your streak for the day.
Scoring
Your score reflects how many of the five comparisons you get right, scaled to a total out of 100. A perfect run of five correct picks earns the full score.
Tips
- When unsure, eliminate the option that sounds more well-known β scale is not the same as fame.
- Think in relative terms: is this bigger than something you do know for certain?
- Geography rounds often reward knowing a region's general scale rather than exact figures.
- Keep a steady pace; there is no bonus for speed, only for getting each pick right.
FAQ
- Does everyone get the same Higher or Lower comparisons?
- Yes. The five comparisons are generated from the game date and identical for every player that day.
- Can I replay Higher or Lower?
- Your first completed attempt is saved as the daily result. A new scored round arrives at midnight US Eastern.
- Are the facts behind each comparison verified?
- Yes, each comparison is based on widely documented facts such as elevation, population or historical dates.
- Is there a penalty for a wrong pick?
- No, a wrong pick simply does not add to your score, and you keep playing the remaining rounds.
