🎲 Target

Target is a daily mental arithmetic puzzle. You are given six numbers and a three-digit target, then you combine them with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to land as close to the target as you can. Each starting number can be used once, and tighter, shorter solutions score higher.

1. Look at the six numbers and the target shown at the top of the board.
2. Tap two numbers and an operation to combine them into a new number.
3. Keep combining results until you reach the target or decide to stop.
4. Tap Submit best answer — exact hits score the most, and close results still count.

Scoring

An exact hit scores 100, within 5 scores 70, within 10 scores 40 and within 25 scores 20. A small efficiency bonus is added for using fewer steps, so a quick exact solution is the maximum possible score.

• Get into the right hundred first, then fine-tune with the small numbers.
• Multiplying the two largest numbers is rarely the winning first move.
• Division only helps when it lands on a whole number — the board will reject a fraction.
• Close still counts — always submit your best rather than leaving the board blank.

Is every Target puzzle solvable exactly?

Most are, but some days the target is deliberately just out of reach so closeness decides the leaderboard.

Can I use a number twice in Target?

No. Each of the six starting numbers can be used once, though results you create along the way can be reused.

Are negative numbers or fractions allowed?

No. Every intermediate result must stay a positive whole number.

Is there a time limit on Target?

No. Take as long as you like, and tap the reset button to start over before you submit.

Does everyone get the same numbers and target?

Yes, the six numbers and the target are generated from the date, so every player sees the same puzzle.
